Little is known about Sofia's early life, or how she became an associate of a successful smuggler based in the Latin quarter of Watery Eyes. Even the nature of their relationship is unclear. Sources differ as to whether she was a relative, or perhaps a trusted servant, to the notorious gangster. What is certain is that he died in a gunfight with Skyguard troops, who arrested Sofia and other surviving members of the gang. Sentenced to a lifetime of slavery, she was purchased at a prisoner auction by the Kymanto Syndicate.
