Hnefatafl is an old Aesir boardgame of strategy, played on a checkered board with uneven sides. One player controls a king and his defenders, while the other commands a larger attacking force. Which player starts is decided by flipping a coin. Victory comes through careful positioning, trapping pieces, and either capturing or escaping with the king.

Games take approximately two hours. The game can be played just for fun, but is also suitable for Gambling.

The game is popular in Myrdalen, and you can play it at The Alebarrel.
