Quantum Gates

Quantum gates, also known as Stargates, quantum portals, or quantum teleportation gates, are alien technology involving wormholes which allow space-faring vessels rapid travel between stars. The first one discovered by humans was found behind Mars in 2098, by the spaceship USS Govinda. This led to the formation of the International Space Agency, which went on to map a network linking dozens of star systems reaching over 2,500 light years from Earth before Ikaanos' contact with the rest of humanity was lost in The Severance of 2290. The nature of this alien race is unknown, and no other technologically advanced civilizations have yet been found amongst those several of the worlds discovered so far through this network which harbor complex multicellular life.
