Overview
The Gymnasium, located in Crow's End, is the host of the Great Gymnastics Competition, Ikaanos' premier gymnastics event. The winner, and her manager, are guaranteed fame and wealth.
Competitions
Competitions occur every 25 days (quarter-finals) and 50 days (finals). You can submit any one follower with 60+ Acrobatics skill enter the competition, as long as your Influence is 1,000+. Entry costs $500 on the day. There may be a dozen or so other entrants, some of whom will have Acrobatics skill over 100, but many other factors go into determining the winner - including some luck; see below for details.
Quarter-Finals
Quarter-Finals occur every 25 days; winners of the quarter-finals can receive between 16 and 20 thousand dollars, as well as +700 influence and various stat increases.
Grand Finals
Grand Finals occur every 50 days. Winners of Grand Finals can receive +$40,000, +2,000 influence, and bonuses such as Happiness +8, Prestige +4, Willpower +5, Dexterity +2, Acrobatics +1, Dancing +1, and +2 Perfectionist trait value. Competitions take two hours.
Competition performance
Their skill in the competitions depends on their acrobatics, dexterity, discipline, and dancing stats, their weight and body stats, affection, and choice of attire. Ideal competitors have high acrobatics/dexterity/discipline/dancing skills, a lean build, and proper competitive attire.
The base performance quality is determined by (Dexterity + Acrobatics skill) / 2 , plus a random roll, and then the following factors add bonuses:
- Affection (60+, 90+, 110+): +5,+5,+5 (+15 max total)
- Perfectionist trait (90+): +15
- Petite body (or less): +15
- Petite body (or less) AND Strength 65+: +15
- Celeste Sunderland: +15
- Age (<20, 20-25, 26-30, 31-35, 36-40, 41+): +3/0/-3/-9/-15/-21/-27
- Discipline (60+, 80+): +10, +20 (+30 max. total)
- Dancing (60+, 80+): +10, +20 (+30 max. total)
- Wearing Training outfit: +5
- Stamina (80+, 100+, 120+): +5, +5, +15 (+25 max. total)
- Pregnant (day 100+, day 220+): -20, -20 (-40 max. total)
- Weight (60kg+, 70kg+, 80kg+): -10, -20, -20 (-50 max. total)
