Daiku, also known as "The Army Carpenter", is a local Raikan two-player tactical board game that requires wits, strategy and lucky dice rolls, as you pitch two armies against each other on a simulated battlefield. It is generally played for cash stakes as the local preferred form of gambling.
In Daiku you have a choice of six types of troops to purchase with 12 points, then based on your choice plus seeing that of your opponent, you play either offensively or defensively. Then (in the MoR game) there is a single dice roll, modified by the skills of you and your opponent, plus the forces arrayed and whether each player is playing offensively or defensively, to determine who eventually wins. This is to simulate the outcome of the Daiku game between the MC and your opponent, which involves lots of dice rolling plus judgement calls to determine its outcome.
The troops available and their points cost are: Peasant (1), Archer (2), Spearman (2), Swordsman (3), Knight (4) and Dragon (10).
