Influence is an in-game currency. It is a broad term, used to describe the player's power and connections throughout Ikaanos. Influence is an important part of the player's growing empire, as a high level of influence makes others respect him and allows access to items and weapons that are forbidden by Ikaanos' laws.
Gaining & Losing Influence[edit | edit source]
The player can gain influence in many different ways:
- Having a luxurious house.
- Having a fully upgraded stable.
- Having an extravagant spending.
- Having a squad of maids.
- Teaching at the Whitehaven Academy himself. Assigning NPCs to the Academy either for studying purposes or lecturing purposes.
- Investing in legitimate businesses
- Assigning a female NPC to work as a performer at the Golden Dragon.
- Having paragons working for him and Aria Bianchi as his slave.
- Vassalizing factions.
- Having a Herald traveling around Ikaanos to spread good words about the player and his household.
- Producing offspring that contribute positively to Ikaanos' development.
- Living in a poor Ikaanos.
- Completing quests and tasks given by many people and factions across Ikaanos.
Similarly, the player can also lose influence in a variety of ways:
- Having a run-down house.
- Having a squad of maids that perform their chores in a sloppy manner.
- Being a member of the Aesir religion.
- Associating himself with the bandits and criminals of Ikaanos.
- Investing in illegitimate business.
- Having a number of wives that exceed the limit of the religion that the player is following.
- Living in a prosperous Ikaanos.
- Producing offspring that contribute negatively to Ikaanos' development.
- Purchasing items and weapons that are off-limits to civilians.
