The Marston Wetlands Watchtower
The Marston Wetlands Watchtower

A pre-Severance watchtower dominates a small hill in the Marston Wetlands. It is mostly locked shut and empty but is occasionally manned by Skyguard troops when they are performing raids in this area. The player can encounter Astrid Wredén here and bring her to their household after defeating the raider king who resides here.

Claiming the Watch Tower

The player can claim the tower if they have completed the "Fort Sera" mission, and Fort Sera itself must have at least 85 soldiers and $250,000 in treasury.

The following effects occur upon claiming the watchtower:

  • Soldiers (Fort Sera): -15 soldiers.
  • Treasury (Fort Sera): -$75,000.
  • Soldiers (Marston Watch Tower): +15.
  • Power Value (Fort Sera): +150.
  • A daily 15% risk of losing one guard due to raider attacks if city Control is below 40.

The following effects are permanently active if there are at least 10 soldiers stationed at the Marston Watch Tower:

  • Patrols: the Toll raider event at Cole's Canyon will be permanently removed.
  • Patrols: a 1% chance per every 10 soldiers (max: 40%) to increase city Control by one point per day, up to a maximum of 60.
  • Treasury (Fort Sera): -$100/day (freebooters holding).
  • Treasury (Fort Sera): -$50/day (maintenance).
  • Fort Sera toll incomes (to the MC): +50-250/day (based on city Control/Prosperity).
  • Influence (the MC's): +50/day.

Note: once the Watch Tower is claimed, the ability to scavenge it is disabled!

Managing the Watch Tower

After claiming the Watch Tower, the player can manage it via the following options:

  • +1 Soldier: add one soldier to the existing soldier pool within the Watch Tower (max: 16)
  • Rotate Captain: change the captain of the force at the Watch Tower. There are three options for the Captain position:
    • Lt. Chesterfield: Lowest maintenance fee (-20$/day) but highest garrison Depletion risk (20%)
    • Lt. Underwood: Moderate maintenance fee (-50$/day) and slightly lower garrison Depletion risk compared to Lt. Chesterfield (15%)
    • Major Washington: Highest maintenance fee (-100$/day) but has the lowest garrison Depletion risk (10%)
  • Patrols: The player can toggle Patrols on/off. While Patrols are active, swamp raiders spawns are disabled, and vice versa.
