Chancellor Mordecai
Chancellor Mordecai

Mordecai Adler is the Chancellor of The Republic, High Commander of the Mastersphere since 2416, controls The Senate, which appoints the Mayor, who governs Ikaanos Colony. He also has direct control over the The Ikaanian Marine Corps (Space Marines), making him the most powerful being on Raana.

At the venerable age of 149 years, Mordecai is one of the oldest living humans on (or in orbit of) Raana today, next to Lord Lubar Harlington (born 2329) and Lord Quentin Rafe (born 2327). Convinced by his sister Louisiana, Mordecai developed a habit of naming his children after the fifty states of the former United States that once existed on Earth.

He also has a harem, which resides on the USS Seneca for his pleasures.

Biography

Early Life

Born to a poor farming family in the former United States on Earth, Mordecai was the oldest child in the Adler family and was named after his grandfather. At a young age, Mordecai showed great interest in politics, especially that of the Roman Empire, as he would often organize a small senate with his younger siblings and the neighborhood kids. Furthermore, he also despised what he called "brain-rotting activities" such as video games and neuralink escapades - preferring old tabletop RPGs and real-world adventures over the digital experiences that were common.

Mordecai's father recognized his potential to become someone great from the way he spoke and how he organized things. As such, he invested a great deal of money into Mordecai's education, sending Mordecai to the University of New Orleans to study agriculture and economics. Mordecai, however, was more interested in archeology, astronomy, and planetary studies. In addition to that, he was growing increasingly fascinated by the many newly discovered planets at that time, especially Raana and Atlantica.

Going to Raana

Eventually, Mordecai got an assignment as an assistant researcher to a Raanic SWG engineer and decided to abandon the Adler farm, taking his sister, Louisiana, along with him to Raana.

It was there that Mordecai, alongside his commander's research, began. It was aimed at Alien technology, radionic waves, and the newly discovered elements that made Revital possible. The main goal of the research, however, was to trace the stargates back to their original star systems, with the hope of making contact and absorbing the knowledge of the gate builders - something that Mordecai believed could advance humanity's technology by a 100,000 years in a heartbeat.

The Severance

The Severance happened, and Mordecai, alongside his sister, had a hard time adjusting to the anarchy that followed. They stayed true to the SWG corporation, which tried desperately to create an army of mercenaries that could protect their laboratories and stave off the chaos until the gates would be restored.

However, it was also at this time that something happened, which changed Mordecai completely. Five years after The Severance, a group of Scandi broke into his house, nearly successful in raping his sister, Mordecai eliminated them, and it changed him completely - going from a nerd who was attempting to uncover great things to one akin to a ruthless warlord.

The Ascension

Now aiming for one thing: power, Mordecai climbed the ranks and attempted to get access to the USS Seneca, all of which were successful. This made him the undisputed Chancellor of The Republic and he spent years organizing The Republic so that he could continue his research, which became more and more obscure as the years passed.

Encountering Mordecai

In-game, The Player has two routes to encounter the powerful Chancellor:

Slavemasters of Raana

After selling Aria Bianchi to the Mastersphere, a curious Mordecai will send an envoy to deliver his invitation to the player should their influence be at 25,000 or above. This will kickstart the remaining chapter of "Slavermaster of Raana", where the player finds themselves assisting Mordecai's children as well as getting themselves deeper into the world of Ikaanos' elites.

New World Order

By siding with Aria and the rebellion, The Player will have to fight through the elite forces that defend the Palace District and the Space Marines that defend the USS Seneca. The climax of the conflict is the fight with the Chancellor himself. The result is Mordecai's presumed death, the collapse of The Republic, and the establishment of The Third Republic, with Aria and the rebels leading it.
