Incantations
Incantations are unique abilities the MC can unlock upon reading further sections of the "Kessian Manuscripts" skill book, after first completing the "Rite of Passage" occult study that the manuscripts commence with. The manuscripts are obtained in the Prowler In The Depths Chapter 3. Each incantation offers a unique ability, at the cost of draining the player's sanity (in the form of Willpower reductions).
The efficiency and cost of an incantation are directly affected by the MC's Occult skill:
- Level 1-29: Dabbler.
- Level 30-74: Adept.
- Level 75: Master.
Mind Melt
The Mind Melt Incantation is unlocked after studying the "Mind Melt" Occult incantation in the Kessian Manuscripts (after first completing the Rite of Passage). It can be used from an NPC's interact menu.
Effects (Dabbler/Adept/Master):
Cydikar's Touch
Cydikar's Touch is unlocked after studying the "Cydikar's Touch" Occult incantation in the Kessian Manuscripts (after first completing the Rite of Passage). It may be used in combat, at the cost of sanity.
Effects (Dabbler/Adept/Master):
- +75/+100/+125 Health Points (MC).
- -1 Willpower (MC).
Voice of Adem
Voice of Adem is unlocked after studying the "Voice of Adem" Occult incantation in the Kessian Manuscripts (after first completing the Rite of Passage). It may be used in combat, at the cost of sanity.
Effects (Dabbler/Adept/Master):
- -125 Health Points (selected enemy).
- -3/-2/-1 Willpower (MC).
Note: The Master Occult level will always incapacitate rather than kill a selected enemy if HP reduced to 0 or below.
Affinity
Affinity is unlocked after completing the "Affinity" incantation study found in a disturbing notebook after a battle at Sentinel Hill (the completion of chapter 3 of "Prowler in The Depths").
