Relic Hunting is a unique Job which you can assign to Stacey McClung if she joins your household, and also an activity you can then engage in with her once her hunting produces a good lead to follow up. The Relic Hunter engine generates random Relics and their respective quest chains.

Relic Hunter Assignment

When assigned as a Relic Hunter, Stacey will generate progress towards a new relic Quest. Progress speed is determined from the average of Stacey's Intelligence, Discipline, and Academic stats.

Additional speed modifiers:

  • Allowance (per $100): +5 (Max 30)
  • Fame (500+): +10
  • Historical Society Standing (10+): +10
  • Library (per level): +5
  • No library: -50
  • No allowance: -75
  • Willpower (10-): -20
  • Happiness (10-): -100
  • Happiness (20-): -25
  • Corruption (70+): -15
  • Corruption (90+): -15

Quest

Once Stacey has finished researching the relic, you can generate a quest by asking her about the relic. Quests are randomly generated, and can take you to multiple locations, and involve varying amounts of combat and/or skill rolls. Bringing backup is highly recommended.

Relic Processing

Once you have retrieved the Relic, you can talk to Stacey to process it, where you will be given the choice to sell it for money, donate it for Standing with the Historical Society, or keep the Relic for Influence and other potential bonuses. Kept sexual Relics will increase household Corruption; Relic weaponry will provide a Combat Training bonus, and occult Relics will give Occult skill.

Note that Relics tend to be far more valuable than the more common Artifacts that Stacey also deals in. Artifacts includes things from old Earth or of manufacture by Irendorian Beryll Monkeys; Relics tend to be more mysterious, possibly older, and may hint at things yet undiscovered about the nature or history of Raana.
