The player can harvest imperial flowers alongside Raikan Gales from Toshi Gardens.
The gardens and the herb house can grow many dozens of species of plants and fungi – from Earth, Raana, and hybrids. Mr Oshiro can sell these to the Raikan–Swedetown area and beyond for thousands of dollars a day. If you can help him re-open his business, in addition to sharing the profits from this with you, grateful Mr. Oshiro will offer some of his harvest too. Little of his produce is likely to interest you though, with the exception of [[Imperial Flowers]] and [[Raikan Gale|The Raikan Gale]]. Mai-Lynn would love to be freed from slavery so that she can use her green fingers to help her father's business. If you can survive without the unique garden produce yield bonus that she brings to your household, you can "Free Slave" and then "Dismiss" her. She will gain 5 Happiness and 10 Affection from being freed, lose the 5 Happiness when dismissed, then will start working with her father.

At Toshi's, IF her Happiness is 30+, Mai-Lynn will increase the cash profit yield by +25%, IF the gardens have been upgraded to at least the "cleared" level; there is no point releasing her before this. She multiplies the yield from the Building and the Herb house as well as from the Garden, but only if the Garden has been upgraded. So there is no point releasing her to work here until you upgrade the Garden. She also multiplies the bonus from baneclaw dung - but again, this only takes effect if the Garden is upgraded.

You can visit Mai-Lynn here any time if you free her. You can recruit here for free, then spend time with her and release her to go back to work with her father again. You can do this as often as you like. So by releasing her you will not "lose" her. She will cease developing her skills when not living in your household though. And she will oose 5 Happiness each time she's released, so you'd better make her happy when you have her!

Toshi Gardens

Overview

Toshi Gardens is the once-thriving establishment of Toshi Oshiro, Raikan's Master Gardener. The garden's lushness tells of this house's proud past, and there's still a vibrant atmosphere of magic clinging to the ancient trees.

The garden is currently closed for business, but you can restore it to functioning and unlock the ability to drink Tea, invest here, and harvest produce, if you complete Mai-Lynn Oshiro's quest.

Produce

The gardens and the herb house can grow many dozens of species of plants and fungi – from Earth, Raana, and hybrids. Mr Oshiro can sell these to the Raikan–Swedetown area and beyond for thousands of dollars a day. If you can help him re-open his business, in addition to sharing the profits from this with you, grateful Mr. Oshiro will offer some of his harvest too. Little of his produce is likely to interest you though, with the exception of Imperial Flowers and The Raikan Gale. These become available from the Herb House, IF you develop it to "Advanced" level for Imperial Flowers (8 bouquets per week), or to "Sekai Niwa" level for Raikan Gale (5 bottles per week).

Upgrading Toshi Gardens

You can upgrade the structure (building), the garden, and the herb house. You can also drop baneclaw dung gathered from Silfren's Lair here to boost income.

Note that upgrading the Garden will bring the attentions of the Black Scorpion gang, who will then start extorting 50% of all profits - i.e. from the Building and Herb House, as well as from the gardens. So it may be worth focusing on the building and the herb house until you are ready to try to defeat the Black Scorpion.

Profits are also affected by Mai-Lynn, and Baneclaw Dung; see below.

A fully developed enterprise with plenty of dung, and Mai-Lynn assisting, will bring in +$930 per day, if the Black Scorpion gang has been removed.

Baneclaw Dung

Baneclaw dung provides special nutrients which helps many of the species grown by Mr Oshiro to thrive. Keeping a big pile of it here for his use as fertiliser will add to profit yield IF the garden is upgraded; it will have no effect if the herb house &/or the building alone are upgraded.

This Dung can be purchased from merchants at Kahill Outpost, sometimes. For a reliable supply, you will have to try to steal it from the lairs of Baneclaws in Silfren Woods. Baneclaw are very dangerous however. Stealth works best in a small group and if you are lightly armored; this reduces your chances of survival if they spot you though. Going in armed & armored enough to kill baneclaws will guarantee a yield (if you survive) - but killing off the beasts that produce this priceless substance does not seem wise.

0 +$0
1–9 +$10
10–19 +$40
20–29 +$70
30–39 +$100
40+ +$130

The dung pile depletes at the rate of 1 unit per 2 days on average (50% chance of -1 per day).

Mai-Lynn
