A book's contents can be digested in a few days of dedicated effort (usually ten three-hour sessions, but usually fewer if you have high Intelligence or drink coffee to stay focused; see below).

  • Intelligence 70+ increases the rate at which you read most books, by +25% to +150% depending on the book (commonly +100%).
  • Drinking coffee while you read also increases the rate at which you complete books, by +20% to +150% depending on the book (commonly +30%).
  • The "Brainy" trait usually increases the primary skill or attribute gains you will achieve from completing most books (by +1, +2 or +3).
